WADT have hit a significant milestone with the completion of a new shared office space in September 2025.
Completed by Spetisbury Construction Limited the property has required a great deal of attention going deep into the existing structure to make significant repairs. The alterations to the property have given it a new life by creating a space that is relevant to modern life.
The building will support new businesses with the aim of enhancing the local economy and community.
The building dates back to the 1860’s when “The Portland Railway Hotel ” was built on the waterfront, it continued to operate as a pub until 1974. The building was subsequently used by BCHA.
In 2018 funding was secured for the regeneration of the property with the intent to create a hub that supports small businesses to promote development and economic growth.
WADT are a not for profit trust that is set up to promote Weymouth as a town and to promote conservation of its buildings and development of its community and economy.
